The Curtis Institute of Music, based in Philadelphia, is one of the world's leading conservatories for training young musicians. With a strong emphasis on excellence and innovation, Curtis has produced some of the most highly acclaimed musicians and composers in the industry.

This year, the talented Curtis Institute of Music student Adrian Wong has been selected to be the young composer in residency from May 20 to June 20 2024 at the Schwarz Foundation's facilities in Samos.

During the residency, Adrian will stay in the beautiful village of Chora, where the Music Rooms are conveniently located just a 3-minute walk away. This tranquil setting will provide the perfect environment for Adrian to focus on his composition and immerse himself in his creative process.

The highlight of the residency will be the premiere of Adrian's composition at the Samos Young Artists Festival, which will take place from 7 – 13 August 2024. This festival, under the creative direction of Masha Ilyashov and Timotheos Gavriilidis-Petrin, brings together young artists from around the world to showcase their talents in a vibrant and inspirational setting.

We are thrilled about the artistic journey that Adrian Wong will embark on during his residency in Greece, and we cannot wait to see the incredible work that he will create. This collaboration between the Curtis Institute of Music, the Athens Conservatoire, and the Schwarz Foundation is a testament to the power of music to bring people together and inspire creativity.

Adrian Wong was selected by the jury to participate in this residency, highlighting his exceptional talent and promising future as a composer. We are fully confident that his upcoming stay in Samos will prove to be a transformative and enriching experience, providing him with invaluable opportunities to further refine his craft and collaborate with other talented artists from around the world.
