Samos Young Artists Festival 2012
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Samos Young Artists Festival 2012 and to introduce this year‘s theme: Music Flows across the Sea. The Festival will bring together new experiences, sounds, ideas and musicians from different cultures on the island of Samos. Various ensembles from Europe, the eastern Mediterranean region, and the USA will play classical and romantic pieces, as well as contemporary compositions from the home countries of participating musicians. The Festival will end with all musicians performing together. They will improvise to Greek folk songs and themes of selected international composers who have an anniversary in 2012, including a special tribute to Manolis Kalomoiris, 50 years after his death. It will be an honor to let us “carry” you across the sea, bringing optimism and creation a little closer.

The concerts take place daily from August 6 – 12, at 8:30 p.m. in the antique open-air theater of Pythagorion on the Greek island of Samos. Admission tickets can be purchased at the box office for € 5.
Location
When traveling on the main road to Vathy, turn left towards the Efpalinon Tunnel just before leaving town. The theater is within 20 minutes walking distance of Pythagorion. Due to the traffic situation, those who drive are recommended to arrive early.
