Young Composer in Residence 2025
The Young Composer in Residence project is a joint initiative of three international institutions - the Curtis Institute of Music, the Athens Conservatory, and the Schwarz Foundation. 1
A jury composed of the three institutions will select and announce an emerging composer for the year 2025 in the spring.
During the residency, the student will live in the beautiful village of Chora, where the Music Rooms are conveniently located just a 3-minute walk away. This tranquil setting will provide the perfect environment for the young composer to focus on their work and immerse themselves in the creative process.
We are excited about the artistic journey the young composer will take during his residency in Greece and cannot wait to see the incredible work that will be created. This collaboration between the Curtis Institute of Music, the Athens Conservatory and the Schwarz Foundation is a testament to the power of music to bring people together and inspire creativity.
With the Young Composer in Residence project on Samos, we aim to provide a unique setting on the island that will allow for a transformative and enriching experience, offering invaluable opportunities to further refine the craft of composing and to collaborate with other talented artists from around the world.
